PEOPLESCOUT’S RESPONSE TO COVID-19: Working Together to Prevent, Protect and Contain

PeopleScout
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response
March 17, 2020 Update

At PeopleScout and the broader TrueBlue organization, the health and well-being of our employees and clients around the globe is our top priority. We are operating with an abundance of caution to keep our employees and clients safe during the fast-evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We also stand committed to supporting our clients and suppliers through this time.

The PeopleScout and TrueBlue crisis response team is monitoring the situation closely and adjusting our internal policies in alignment with global, country and local health organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the U.S. Department of Labor and the National Safety Council.

Policy Approach: In setting policies and taking action related to the coronavirus, our intent is, at a minimum, to follow guidance from relevant authorities such as the WHO, CDC and OSHA. When additional or more extensive actions are prudent in light of the nature of our operations, we will do more than the standard guidance suggests to safeguard our employees.

Information Sharing: We have established a coronavirus information hub for our employees to make it easy for them to stay informed and protected with access to safety recommendations, frequently asked questions and links to useful resources. On the hub, employees can also submit individual questions and report risks to our crisis response team for immediate action. We also are producing a regular cadence of outbound communications and in-office communications to ensure that our employees are kept up to date on policy changes and critical developments.

Work From Home Policy: The vast majority of PeopleScout employees are equipped to work from home, which provides us with a great deal of flexibility when the situation calls for work site restrictions. Work from home protocols are part of our business continuity plans and have been implemented at our locations around the world and at client sites based on elevated risk, mandated social distancing measures and changes to client policies.

Healthy Work Environment: As part of our usual protocol, PeopleScout promotes a healthy work environment by encouraging sick employees to stay home and by providing office cleaning services and hygiene supplies such as hand sanitizers. As part of our coronavirus response, we have implemented enhanced environmental hygiene measures and are regularly sharing and reinforcing the measures recommended by the WHO, CDC, OSHA and other health authorities to help protect against coronavirus.

Travel Policy: We have temporarily suspended international travel and have restricted all non-critical domestic travel. Employees who have traveled to high-risk areas will be asked to work from home. Our goal is to reduce the risk that anyone at PeopleScout might contract or inadvertently spread the virus. These policy changes are important steps to help minimize the spread of coronavirus. We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust this policy as additional information becomes available from world health authorities.

Self-Quarantine Procedure: All employees and contractors who have traveled (or whose household members/those with whom they have close or frequent contact have traveled) to, or transited through, any high-risk area, or who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 are required to complete a 14-day waiting period at home before returning to an office or client site. The timeline begins the date the individual undergoing the waiting period or household member returned to their home country or when they came into contact with the infected individual.

Business Continuity: PeopleScout has well-planned and documented capabilities for continuing to provide world-class service to our clients no matter what challenges we may experience in our work environments. This includes crisis-management, emergency response and business continuity plans, as well as client-specific protocols. Our scalable global delivery centers and virtual teams provide a great deal of flexibility about where work is performed, and our client-specific plans take into account our work sites as well as our clients. As part of our response to the coronavirus outbreak, we are currently conducting exercises to ensure our readiness to implement regional business continuity plans and client-specific protocols and that our employees are well-informed and prepared.

Supply Management: We have implemented rapid-reporting cycles to enable us to quickly identify potential candidate or worker availability shortages and are implementing plans to increase candidate benches for in-demand worker types. We are ready to work with our clients to redirect recruiting or staffing efforts to different facilities or regions as well as to examine current talent acquisition processes to find ways to make them more virtual through our technology platform.

MSP Supplier Management: PeopleScout’s MSP supplier management team is sharing the steps that PeopleScout is taking to promote a healthy work environment with our MSP supplier network and asking them to follow the WHO, CDC and OSHA recommendations. Suppliers are being instructed to engage with clients on local facility business continuity plans, to bring questions to our team for triaging and to notify us immediately of any concerns. We are also communicating regularly with our suppliers to ensure that we have as much advance warning as possible about issues that could disrupt supply and are proactively evaluating our supply base to ensure that we have adequate coverage in high-risk areas and high-demand skill types.

Virtual TA Solutions: We are offering virtual interview solutions to support clients who have enacted no-contact hiring. We are also are ready with recruiter on-demand solutions and can support contingent staffing needs through our MSP practice and our PeopleReady staffing brand.

Client Resource Center: We have developed a client resource center to provide up-to-date information on PeopleScout’s response to COVID-19 and useful information for managing through these uncertain times.

PeopleScout is committed to supporting our clients’ current needs and emerging needs through the coronavirus outbreak. First and foremost, our commitment is to continue to deliver excellent service while communicating transparently. That begins with regular sharing of our response to coronavirus and continues with ongoing communication about how coronavirus is impacting the markets in which we operate and sharing any specific threats to supply.

Additionally, many organizations have already experienced significant impact to business demand and operations. We are seeing a meaningful shift in client talent needs; demand is down in some markets and peaking in others, and we are receiving requests for workers to help safeguard employees and clients and reinforce response efforts. At PeopleScout and TrueBlue, we are committed to nimbly supporting our clients through this situation.

Whether our clients need to scale up their workforce, tap into new talent pools or find high-quality contract workers, we stand ready to support them. PeopleScout has proactively engaged in resource management and training for key talent sectors, including both on-demand recruitment support and contingent labor pools. We are experts in quickly identifying and placing talent and can help our clients deliver on their organization’s response team recommendations. We can also help guide their business continuity plans, sourcing workers from geographically dispersed talent pools or pulling together spot teams to maximize operational readiness to ensure minimal distribution and service disruptions.

If our client’s organization is on the front lines providing critical care to those affected, or their business will be impacted by the global response, our goal is to help them fulfill their organization’s commitments to their employees and customers.

PeopleScout’s UK-Based Talent Advisory Team Wins Four Recruitment Marketing Awards Including Coveted Grand Prix Prize

The RMAs Recognize Excellence in Recruitment Marketing and Talent Management.

London – November 7, 2019 – PeopleScout won the Recruitment Marketing Awards (RMAs) Grand Prix Prize, which recognizes excellence in recruitment marketing and talent management.

This award was for PeopleScout’s creative approach to recruiting nurses in Greater Manchester. Recruitment for nursing has been in crisis, hit hard by negative press, ideological attacks and funding cuts. Across Greater Manchester, hospitals were recruiting from each other, creating a costly merry-go-round which made the problem even worse.

To respond to these challenges, PeopleScout created an inspirational film to attract nursing re-joiners, trainees and candidates from outside the local area. The film features lyrics from legendary local artists, creating an emotive, powerful and unexpected story. The results of the video included 343,050 views on YouTube, 51,138 visits to the campaign site and, most importantly, 1,582 candidates demonstrated engagement with the Greater Manchester NHS and Universities.

“Innovative and inspirational! The use of local bands created a new unique piece of poetry which elevated this to something bigger than the campaign itself, something that would touch people’s emotions and enable them to feel proud of who they are and their potential to work in Manchester hospitals,” commented the RMA judges.

In addition, PeopleScout also won awards for employer branding, recruitment effectiveness and video. Each award signifies the excellence in PeopleScout’s work for decidedly different challenges.

The award for employer branding was for The AA. In the past, The AA was affected by inaccurate perceptions, specifically people thought the only jobs they offered were roadside assistance roles. The diverse candidates the company required simply weren’t considering them as an employer.

“We created a new careers site with the innovative but cheeky chatbot that used the ‘Ready for ANYTHING’ employer brand and showcased the fun culture that people had not associated with The AA before. The results were that site traffic increased 320% and applications increased 266% over an 18-month period. Within 30 months we moved The AA from 60% to 5% agency use and have saved The AA several million pounds per year,” said Heather DeLand, Executive Creative Director and Head of Comms Solutions at PeopleScout.

The Recruitment Effectiveness Award was for the Government of Jersey campaign. It was recognised by the judges as “a clear strategy based on direct and honest messaging – aligning directly with objectives of the business.”

The challenge was to shift negative perceptions of life in Jersey, reduce the reliance on agency workers and help attract a range of care staff. PeopleScout started with the proposition ‘Let’s be honest,’ with Jersey shown as a desirable place to live whilst recognising the truth about the government’s care reputation in the past.

An open letter was written that admitted past failures and positioned a radical restructure of care in Jersey. This appeared as a full-page advert in national, local and specialist press, as well as featuring at recruitment events, in online collateral and through website content. The campaign has generated 263 candidates registering their interest, 25 children’s social workers already recruited and many more in the pipeline.

“We are delighted with the awards that our work has received this year. Each of our clients have unique challenges which we solve with our creative approach, whether it’s through media, assessment, strategy or candidate sourcing. Having this industry recognition, acknowledging PeopleScout as the best of the best, is fantastic news,” said Robert Peasnell, Managing Director of PeopleScout.

PeopleScout Named the No. 1 RPO Provider on the HRO Today Baker’s Dozen for APAC and the No. 3 RPO Provider on the HRO Today Baker’s Dozen for EMEA

Global RPO Leadership Position Bolstered by Global Expansion, Game-Changing Affinix™ Technology and Commitment to Innovation in Talent Solutions

Chicago – November 7, 2019 – PeopleScout, a TrueBlue company and leading global provider of talent solutions, has been recognized as the No. 1 RPO Provider in APAC and the No. 3 RPO Provider in EMEA on HRO Today’s RPO Baker’s Dozen Customer Satisfaction Ratings. This follows the company’s ranking as an enterprise leader on the global RPO Baker’s Dozen in September.

The HRO Today Baker’s Dozen rankings are determined through a survey of current buyers of RPO services. The annual Baker’s Dozen list ranks the top 13 RPO’s globally as well as on regional lists for the EMEA and APAC regions. Providers are evaluated on service breadth, deal size and quality using a predetermined algorithm that weighs questions and categories based on importance. HRO Today then calculates scores that demonstrate the relative differences among the ranked service providers.

“PeopleScout is well-positioned to provide talent solutions across the total workforce spectrum, anywhere in the world,” said Elliot Clark, CEO and chairman of SharedXpertise and HRO Today. “The company’s investment in enhancing their capabilities in EMEA and APAC, along with their game-changing Affinix talent technology and commitment to innovation, were evident in the strength of this year’s survey responses.”

PeopleScout introduced its award-winning Affinix technology in Europe earlier this year to help employers expedite and simplify the process of acquiring new talent. This follows the successful introduction of Affinix in the Americas and APAC where it has delivered significant performance improvements to PeopleScout clients. Artificial intelligence, machine learning and other emerging technologies extend across Affinix, streamlining the sourcing, screening and candidate engagement process to identify the top talent more efficiently.

“We are honored to be recognized as an RPO leader in EMEA and APAC and are grateful for the strength of the client partnerships that made these rankings possible” said PeopleScout President Taryn Owen. “We have tremendous energy across these regions and are committed to delivering innovative, tech-enabled talent solutions wherever our clients need talent.”

PeopleScout continues to lead the talent acquisition industry with its innovative talent technology and solutions. In 2019, Affinix won “Most Innovative Enterprise Solution” in the 2019 Recruiting Service Innovation (ReSIs) Awards. In 2018, Affinix won the gold award in the “Best Advance in RPO Technology” category in Brandon Hall Group’s Human Capital Management (HCM) Excellence Awards and the HRO Today TekTonic Award in the “Candidate Experience” category. In 2019, PeopleScout was named the No. 1 MSP provider for the third consecutive year and an Enterprise and Healthcare RPO Leader on HRO Today’s Baker’s Dozen Customer Satisfaction Ratings. Also in 2019, PeopleScout was named a Leader and Star Performer in Everest Group’s RPO Services PEAK Matrix™ Assessment and a Leader in all categories on the NelsonHall NEAT vendor evaluation for RPO.

PeopleScout Launches its Beyond the Expected™ Managed Service Provider Service Approach

Cutting-Edge Technology Blended with Faster, More Specialized Support Raises the Industry Standard for Managing a Contingent Workforce

Chicago – September 9, 2019 – PeopleScout today launched its Beyond the Expected™ service approach at the North American CWS Summit in San Diego. Beyond the Expected challenges the status quo and anticipates buyers’ expectations with a more specialized, innovative approach to managed service provider (MSP) solutions.

“All MSP buyers expect a strong process that results in cost reduction and compliance,” said PeopleScout President Taryn Owen. “Our Beyond the Expected service approach is designed for those who are looking for something more, with greater specialization, faster response time and ongoing technology innovation to help our clients build their contingent workforce with the best talent, now and in the future.”

The launch of PeopleScout’s Beyond the Expected approach is the culmination of a yearlong reimagining of the company’s MSP practice to better meet the evolving needs of MSP buyers. MSP usage has continued to grow steadily on the back of rising demand for contingent labor, with Everest Group estimating contingent spend under management by MSP providers to be in excess of $140 billion globally. With rising usage comes rising expectations for MSP partnerships to deliver ongoing program evolution, produce actionable insights and leverage emerging technology.

Under the leadership of Senior Vice President of Client Delivery Jennifer Torres, who joined PeopleScout in October 2018, PeopleScout re-structured its delivery organization into vertically-aligned client teams, increased its commitment to 24/7 concierge-level support and invested in technology to elevate visibility across the talent ecosystem. PeopleScout Identified as a Leader in All Categories in NelsonHall’s 2019 NEAT Vendor Evaluation for RPO

Chicago – July 9, 2019 – PeopleScout, a TrueBlue (NYSE: TBI) company and the world’s largest RPO provider, was identified by NelsonHall as a Leader in every category in the 2019 NEAT vendor evaluation for RPO: Candidate Experience, Geographic Footprint & Scalability, Services Innovation, Sourcing Candidates and Technology Innovation.

Nikki Edwards, Principal HR Research Analyst at NelsonHall, said: ”PeopleScout’s proactive approach to bringing to the fore best practices in talent acquisition services and technology, ensuring the candidate is central to every initiative deployed, is acknowledged by NelsonHall and PeopleScout’s clients alike.”

NEAT is NelsonHall’s vendor evaluation and assessment tool, a method by which buyers can strategically evaluate vendors across a range of criteria and business situations and identify the best performing vendors overall. The NEAT for RPO has a specific focus on candidate experience, innovation and global/multi-country delivery.

“We are honored to have been recognized by NelsonHall as a Leader in every category in the 2019 NEAT vendor evaluation for RPO,” said PeopleScout President Taryn Owen. “We are particularly proud to be a Leader in both the Candidate Experience and Technology Innovation categories because at PeopleScout we are striving to use technology to create a more human candidate experience by ensuring that every touchpoint brings our client’s employer brand to life and inspires candidates to join their organization.”

Positioning as a “Leader” on the NEAT vendor evaluation is based on a combination of analyst assessments and feedback from RPO vendor clients. Interviews with RPO vendor clients focus on measuring the vendor’s ability to deliver both immediate benefit as well as to meet future requirements.

Highlights from NelsonHall’s evaluation of PeopleScout on the 2019 NEAT vendor evaluation include the company’s:

  • “Expertise in hospitality and transportation/travel, banking/financial services, retail, pharmaceuticals/healthcare, and professional services”
  • Growing global footprint through the 2018 acquisition of TMP Holdings LTD, as well as previous acquisitions across North America and APAC
  • “Capability in delivering high volume recruiting”
  • Strength in talent advisory services, notably employer branding, assessment and recruitment marketing
  • Established proprietary technology platforms and technology innovation. NelsonHall stated that “[PeopleScout is] continually developing its patented technology (whether new technology or enhancements to existing technology), including Affinix™, and introducing new third-party tools and technology to enhance client programs (e.g., use of RPA, IA, NLP, etc.).”
  • “Ability to leverage TrueBlue’s other brands and expertise to offer breadth and depth of services to its RPO clients (total talent clients)”
  • The evaluation also reports the strength of PeopleScout and TrueBlue’s “repositioning as a total workforce solutions organization, establishing a unified approach to operational delivery and technology platforms.”

PeopleScout continues to be a leader in RPO, MSP and Total Workforce Solutions. Earlier in 2019, PeopleScout was named a Leader and Star Performer in Everest Group’s RPO Services PEAK Matrix™ Assessment. Also in 2019, PeopleScout was named the No. 1 MSP provider on HRO Today’s Baker’s Dozen Customer Satisfaction Ratings for the third consecutive year.
